Born and raised in Chico, Ruby began dancing at age 3. She loves teaching dancers of all ages, helping them grow, gain confidence, and become passionate artists. Teaching lets her share her knowledge and love for dance, and she’s grateful to make it her career.
She danced with Fusion Dance Co. for 8 years, competing regionally and nationally. She trained at Hype, and studied dance at Chico’s Inspire School of the Arts and Sciences. Her training includes jazz, contemporary, hip hop, tap, ballet, and heels.
Ruby joined Hype as an instructor in 2019, serving as in-house choreographer for Fusion Dance Co. and teaching recreational classes for six years. In 2024 she became Assistant Director of FDC, was promoted to Creative Director in 2025, and later that year became the new owner of Hype Dance Studio!
She has also worked as a guest choreographer across Butte County, including for Inspire High School and several productions for California Regional Theater Company.
