“Believe” is an original production inspired by The Polar Express, created, produced and directed by brother-sister team Jeff Schneeweis and Sarah Schneeweis.  It’s a holiday family experience that takes you on a journey to the North Pole with music and dance!  Performing for its 11th year in the community, this show will ignite your senses, thrill your imagination and recall your faith…Believe!

DANCE AUDITIONS

Ages 4-6 (Kindergarten and 1st graders): Beginning Level.
Saturday, Oct. 4 – 11:30AM – 12:30 PM

We are looking to cast for our role of the adorable “Santa’s Helpers” and “Box Girls!” This audition will consist of jazz and ballet, and will be kept super fun for this young age!  Arrive 15 min. early to sign in and say hello!

o   What to wear: pink tights, black leotard, jazz or ballet shoes, hair in ponytail or bun with a red bow!

o   Note: this “audition” will be a fun class for these dancers! We keep it very positive and fun so there is no stress or pressure on children of this age. We are looking for dancers that are interested in our younger roles, and who will be able to execute simple dance movement, take stage direction well, and are comfortable performing / projecting for an audience. Smile!!! (Parents may remain in the lobby during auditions.)

Ages 7-11:  Intermediate Level
Friday, Oct. 3 – 3:30 – 5:00 PM

IINTERMEDIATE LEVEL: This audition will consist of jazz, contemporary, tumbling. We are looking to cast the following roles: Train Kids, Tumbling Chefs, Hobos, and Elves. We are looking for animated dancers who can project on a large stage. Beginning, Intermediate and Advanced dancers will be cast, as well as dancers that display reliability and retain/apply corrections well. All dancers must have good retention of choreography and capable of learning at a fast pace. Dancers do not need to have experience in all styles of dance in order to audition. However, we are looking to cast dancers in various portions of the show, so we will ask dancers to perform all styles they are familiar with at auditions. Please plan on staying for entire audition regardless of how many styles you know.      

o   What to wear: all black (form-fitting attire), jazz shoes, no jewelry please. Hair pulled back completely off face in ponytail or bun. Please present yourself neatly as we will need to see dancers stage-presentable. Stage makeup is not required at auditions.

o   Shoes: jazz shoes are required for this audition.

o   Note: This is a closed audition. Dancers will do stretch/warmup, across the floor skills in jazz, learn jazz choreography in a short combo. They will perform in groups.

 

Ages 12+:  Advanced Level
Monday, Oct. 6 – 7:15-9:00 PM

ADVANCED LEVEL: This audition will consist of jazz, contemporary, tap, ballet, tumbling, and hip-hop.

We are looking to cast the main roles of the show, and this cast will be referred to as our “Core Cast”: Tapping Waiters, Tumbling Chefs, Drummers, Glaciers, Ladies of White Christmas, Bells, Dream Girls, and Conductor. We are looking for animated dancers who can project on a large stage. Advanced dancers will be cast, as well as dancers that display reliability and retain/apply corrections well. All dancers must have good retention of choreography and capable of learning at a fast pace. Dancers do not need to have experience in all styles of dance in order to audition. However, we are looking to cast dancers in various portions of the show, so we will ask dancers to perform all styles they are familiar with at auditions.
