Ages 6-8 Jr. Dance Team
Ages 9+ Teen Dance Team
All dancers tryout at 10:00 AM regardless of what age/team.

Required Attire: Dancers must wear dance or cheer shorts and tank top or fitted t-shirt. Jazz shoes or flexible tennis shoes required. Hair must be pulled back in pony tail and/or headband.

Tryouts: Warm-up/stretch , Across-the-floor technique, Center floor skills, Pom-dance combination

All Dancers will be asked to perform the combination in groups for evaluation.

Dancers will be evaluated on flexibility, coordination, rhythm, precision, execution, performance and potential.

Tryouts are treated as a dance/pom class where dancers feel comfortable and have fun!
A non-intimidating, positive environment leads to dancers’ success and confidence.
We also enforce class discipline and full attention during this process.

Results: Results will be posted at HYPE Dance Studio on Sunday, June 20 at 8:00 AM.

Teams: Each team may have 8-24 dancers. All decisions are based on dancer’s ability to meet criteria listed above.

NOTE: HYPE All Stars Dance Teams do not stunt, however dancers with tumbling experience are needed. Please let us know at tryouts if you have any tumbling skills.

There is a mandatory Parent/Dancer Meeting for all Team Members on Thursday, June 24 at 6:30 PM at HYPE Dance Studio. Season Calendar, requirements, uniforms, competitions, etc. will be discussed. Dancers will also be measured and sized for uniforms.
